Master Bedroom Reveal
Alright ladies - I know I promised more home reveals and although I teased some of this on stories recently, I wanted to do a blog post on our FULL BEDROOM REVEAL! It’s been a labor of love and has taken a LOT longer than I originally planned (always!) but I’m so excited with how it’s turning out! This bedroom update will not be the final as we have a few more things we want to change but I figured it would be helpfuI since revamping a space takes a lot of time! I promise to keep bringing you the reveals as we move from room to room on what’s left to be done in our home!
Our master bedroom has certainly evolved… the room is pretty big and in the beginning, we tried to decorate it ourselves. We soon realized that decorating a large room is HARD! Our problem was that we loved a lot of things, but also had a really hard time pulling the trigger on purchases for fear of finding something better! After buying a couple pieces and getting them into the space, we learned they weren’t the right scale for the room. It takes a lot of time and know-how to find just the right pieces that bring everything together, and we just didn't have the time or skill to do it ourselves! So, we enlisted the help from Studio H Design and my good friend Kelly Hinchman. In the end, we’re SO glad we have the help of professional! It was the right decision for us and it didn’t hurt that Kelly is a dear friend and knows our style so well!
The biggest update we recently made to our bedroom was adding the wallpaper. I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out! It's from Kelly Wearstler and is super graphic and unique, (Graffiti in Ivory Grasscloth). The room really needed a statement to fill the space, so we opted for one wall to give it drama but not be too overwhelming. In all honestly, this wallpaper is pretty expensive. I had NO idea how much wallpaper cost, but I fell in love so I decided to save in other areas of our decor budget.
WALLPAPER FAVORITES
Our bed frame really helped fill the space and give the room some extra dimension. I love how modern and timeless it is, and I think it looks SO good with our chairs. I found a similar bed frame and chairs that are much more affordable that I’ll link down below too. And believe it or not, our duvet cover is from Amazon and under $100 - what a steal! I love that it’s a washed line so it feel more lived in and not so formal! I’ve had it for over a year and it’s held up great! My color is the natural linen.
I had a lot of fun mixing and matching different patterns like this pillow and blanket - you know I love me some edgy prints! I find it’s such a fun way to express your personal style without having to invest too much!
The next change we made was with the lamps. I had actually fallen in love with these and purchased the smaller in black a few years back BUT they turned out to be too small for the space and just not quite right. (see the before pics) Anyway I loved the design so much we ended up getting the large size in white and I am OBESSED! I love that they’re a matte ceramic so feel more current! The lamps added lots of character to the space - but are still neutral and classic.
Since most of the decor and furniture in our bedroom are black and white, the bench at the foot of our bed really pops. The tufted suede is a beautiful warm brown color that coordinates nicely with the light fixture. With more modern pieces like these, I like to add in some more vintage looking pieces like this mirror and vase. Doing this really helps balance out the room.
This is not the end of this revamp, we have a few more pieces coming in the next few months so I'll for sure update you ladies as we go! For now, I’ve linked all the furniture and decor that we’ve added so far - as well as similar more affordable pieces for all my ladies on a budget!
