Date Night Cocktail

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share a new cocktail recipe I’ve been loving lately. This one is not only spicy, smokey and delicious, but it’s so appropriate for V-Day! You know I love my martinis, but this one has become a new fave. So, if you’re looking to switch things up and want to surprise that special someone with a fancy cocktail, I highly recommend this recipe. Cheers lovers!

INGREDIENTS

6-8 fresh raspberries + more for garnish

4-5 fresh mint leaves

2 ounces mezcal

1/2 ounce simple syrup

1/2 an orange juiced

1/2 a lime juiced

Ice

Tajin for rimming glass

DIRECTIONS

In a shaker, muddle raspberries and mint until fruit releases its juice.

Fill 3/4 of the way with ice and pour in mezcal, simple syrup and citrus juices.

Shake well for at least 30 seconds.

Use the leftover citrus peel to rim around your glass and dip rim in Tajin.

Fill glass with ice (crushed works too) and pour drink without straining.

Garnish with fresh raspberries and mint sprig.

You can serve on ice or strained. I love a spicy and slightly smokey drink, but if you don’t like mezcal, feel free to swap it for tequila or liquor of choice. You can also muddle in a few jalapeño slices if you want more kick. Enjoy!
