Taking Spring Style to Iceland & My Tips to Styling White Denim!

Hi ladies! I am so excited to share this post all about my recent visit to Iceland! To be honest I am not a super outdoorsy person and I left Alaska for a reason, I do NOT like the cold so Iceland wasn’t really on my radar of places to visit. BUT of course I have seen all the magical photos, the black lava beaches, the wild horses, I mean Game of Thrones is filmed there! And of course let’s not forget The Blue Lagoon!

As you girls know Erica my bestie from Fashioned Chic Styling and I help each other out with projects and trips. So when she asked if I could go with her to Iceland and help her of course said yes! I mean when am I getting another chance right?! While I was there I took the opportunity to shoot some new exclusive spring pieces from my favorite retailer Intermix, with the stunning background of the Blue Lagoon! Yes that is the actual color of the lagoon!

I decided to go with some super high rise white flares to change things up a bit and loved the unique flattering design. White jeans are hard to pull off but a flare is the perfect option for white.

Style Tip: When styling white jeans I always go up a size so that the fit is a bit looser on the thighs and bum. Also opt for a high rise! Way more flattering and lengthening!

Of course I had to add this Blondie tee to give a little rock and roll edge. I can’t get enough band tees! Then I finished my look with this gorgeous cropped cardigan. I fell in love with the color and also thought it’s be so chic over a simple black slip dress for cocktails. Lastly I added these rose gold pumps to peep out of my flares for a finishing touch. All these pieces are exclusive to Intermix so they’re super special and limited in quantities. Meaning you won’t see everyone else rocking the same pieces, love that! :)

The Retreat at The Blue Lagoon

Our Stay

Now back to my stay in Iceland. We stayed at the beautiful The Retreat at Blue Lagoon Resort and this place is nothing short of magical! Seriously this is probably the most impressive place I have ever stayed at! This modern gem is literally in the Blue Lagoon and boasts one of the most incredible spas I have even been too. Modern design and every detail worth the price.

I would definitely say that if you want to experience the Blue Lagoon the only way to do so is either staying at The Retreat or at their more affordable sister property The Silica Hotel because they are literally ON the blue lagoon and all their amenities are designed to enjoy the lagoon and intergrated into the spa.

Speaking of the spa, if you visit you have to do the In Water signature Massage, you are literally flaoting in the Blue Lagoon while getting a full body massage! Incredible! Then spend the rest of the day indulging in the Blue Lagoon Ritual; a three step self treatment and all the spa amenities.

For Dining:

We ate at The Lava Restaurant that is one of the most unique fine dining experiences I’ve had and ate Birch juniper cured arctic char and Liquorice, skyr ice cream, super yum!

Also try the Spa Restaurant for light healthy food.

This was such a short trip that I wish I could have done so much more. But it will just have to wait until my next visit and there will be a next visit! Just maybe in the Spring or summer next time! ;)

XO, Lucy
