How I Style the Neon Trend My Way
Neon is Back in Action
Hey ladies! A trend for the spring that I am absolutely loving is the neon trend!!! I have been pleasantly surprised at how many creative ways there are to style fluorescent colors - and you do NOT have to look like a highlighter!! There are plenty of ways to ease bright colors into your wardrobe while remaining loyal to your personal style. I think sometimes we shy away from trends that feel “out there”, even if we like the way other people are wearing them. Cut that comparison out, gals!!! Don’t be afraid to get creative with it. Start small and find things that you’re comfortable in. Before you know it your wardrobe will be expanding in ways you never expected it to, but you’ll love having fun. Trying new things doesn’t have to be so intimidating!!
Transition Pieces
We have had lots of these funky San Diego days recently where it’s all blue skies and sunny, but that breeze is coooold. My SoCal babes know what I’m talking about…it’s all fun and games until you’re shivering on your walk to grab coffee, ha! I was bummed that it wasn’t super warm outside but I found a way to make the weather work for me: transition. pieces. And what’s better than a cutout sweater?! Such a great spring option, perfect for girls’ night out, date night, and everything in between. I love the classic neutral grey because it lets my favorite part about this look steal the show…
Pops of Color
A super easy and fun way to add some color to your life is through accented accessories…my obvious favorite being SHOES. I mean, any excuse to grab a new pair, am I right?! These pumps are sooo freakin’ good. With the neon and vinyl together, so many retro vibes — too fun! Other fun options for adding bright pinks, blues, greens, oranges, whatever to your wardrobe: knits, bags, even swimwear is a great way to ease in!
Balance it Out
When you’re a neutrals girl at heart, it can help to balance out bright statement pieces with slightly tamer pieces. I love a good clean blue jean to keep things classy - leave it to Annie Bing to make quite possibly the most flattering denim evahhhhh. They are super high rise, such everything in but are a bit more relaxed then a traditional skinny. AND it’s really hard for me to find a dark blue wash I love, this one is so good! So easy to pair these jeans with just about anything!!!
