5 Easy Holiday Hosting Tips

When it comes to the holidays, hosting can certainly seem overwhelming. Especially with Christmas shopping and everything else that comes with the season, I know hosting can get a bit stressful. So, I wanted to share a few tips that will not only impress your guests, but will make any holiday soirée a breeze!

Tip 1 - Always have pre-stuffed blue cheese olives for martinis ready to go. It sets such a vibe and looks pretty displayed. We skewer ours with rosemary sprigs and it's always loved by all!

Tip 2 - Have a bottle of wine open or make your cocktails ahead of time. I also like to make sure whatever I’m serving is ready before guests arrive. That way, I can spend more time with guests and less time in the kitchen.

Tip 3 - Scent is important - it’s actually our most evocative sense! I like to light a candle in the guest bathroom (it also sets a nice vibe) as well as throughout the house. Just make sure the scents don’t compete with one another. Having fresh flowers, garland or wreathes are also nice ways to add some nice scents throughout your home.

Tip 4 - Pay attention to details! Making guests feel comfortable is important, so having water easily available to them is a nice touch - you could put it in a pitcher or carafe. I also like to make sure there’s a nice hand soap in the guest bath and coffee table books which are good conversation starters.

Tip 5 - I like to have a small parting gift for everyone. Maybe it’s a small box of chocolates, a personalized candle, or a cute ornament for their own home - these would make a lovely gift!
