Here's How To Actually Layer Your Necklaces
You ladies seem to love my daily jewelry stacks! I get tons of Q’s on the pieces I’m wearing and how to style them with what you already own in your jewelry collection. In my opinion, a look is never complete without jewelry! I like to mix and match my pieces depending on my mood…especially my necklaces! Today on the blog I’m showing you girls how to actually style your necklaces along with a few of my favorite pieces of jewelry I wear on the daily. P.S. the pieces I’m sharing with you today can totally be paired with what you already have! Don’t be afraid to mix and match - even mixed metals can be such a chic, edgy look when you’re feeling it.
Start short and work your way to long. Don’t keep your layers all the same length, this will create dimension and it will keep from your neckline feeling heavy!
Mix your jewelry chain links and weight/size of each necklace. Gives your stack interest and every piece will stand out vs it looking like a jumble if that makes sense.
HOT TIP: Mixing the weights and link style of your necklaces will also keep from things getting tangled!
I always add in a sentimental piece of jewelry. Wether its an initial charm, a birthstone necklace anything that is special to you! It makes every necklace stack feel special and with purpose!
Be aware of your tops necklines. You don’t want to compete with your neckline so be aware and make sure that all your jewelry doesn’t fall right on that hemline.
Mix your metals! Those rules of only one type of metal are old, have fun and mix it up! Lately I’ve been layering turquoise beads and pearls into my jewelry and loving!
Keep it to one REALLY bold piece so things don’t get too heavy! You can see in my first stack the bold piece is this Brooklyn Necklace and I just layered more subtle pieces around it!
HOT TIP: If you stray away from layering your necklaces because of tangling you’ll love these! I found this clasp from Miranda Frye and this one from BaubleBar. They’re so helpful because not only can you prevent your chains from getting tangled together, when taking your stack on and off, you only have one clasp to work with instead of 3!
