The At Home Workouts That I Like

Brunette Woman Working out at home

Here in San Diego gyms and fitness studios are still shut down due to COVID. Luckily for me I love doing at home workouts! Do you girls prefer to go to a gym or get active at home? For me, I have so many things going on throughout the day while balancing family, work, and friends…BUT staying active is super important to me so I always try to find time for a workout whenever I can. The beauty of working out at home is you can do it virtually at any time of the day 🙌

I either stream on my TV, Laptop, Desktop and since I don’t have a gym or usable garage to workout in I got this jumbo workout pad that I just roll out anywhere. My bathroom, hallway, living room, bedroom and my favorite is to roll it out on my deck and workout outside, so nice!

HOT TIP: Change up where you do your workouts, you’d be amazed how motivating a change of scenery is!

Some of you may not know this but I got diagnosed with Hashimotos a while back. As a result, I’ve had to tone down my workouts in terms of intensity so lately I’ve been loving virtual pilates, yoga, barre and other low-medium intensity classes. If you’re looking to get active at home, I’ve listed a few workouts I love below along with everything you need for your at home gym set up. Let me know what classes you ladies try!

  • Melissa Wood Health: My all time favorite fitness platform right now! Melissa has yoga flow classes, targeted workouts for legs, abs, and more. I can do them anywhere, they require no equipment and they are really good for my mind! Think strength, mediation, pilates, yoga combos. Workouts are 15-45min max and she has an app so you can do anywhere.

  • Obé Fitness: This is another great online workout platform. It has SO many class offerings + many high intensity workout classes like dance cardio and kickboxing if that’s more your style.

  • Peloton: Sadly since Covid, i haven't made it to a class but strongly considering a Peloton bike! Of course Peloton has a cycling bike + classes to ride to BUT they also have an app equipped with at-home workouts with little to no equipment needed.

  • YouTube: SO many fitness influencers and instructors have classes on YouTube for free. Just search what type of workout you’re looking for and you’ll find tons of free options. This is random but I started doing this 15 min Victorias Secret model butt workout and I love it! So quick and seriously burns the bum and thighs! I even do it at night while Serg is watching TV. https://youtu.be/c2EiYsdrIgI

  • Walking: Sounds anticlimactic but I LOVE it! We walk for at least an hr 3-4 times a week and i feel great! Low impact, burn calories and bonus I get quality time with Serg!

    PRE COVID:

  • Reformer Pilates: This is by far my favorite workout EVER and what I see the quickest best results with! My body leans out, gets long and toned and legit I notice it after 3 classes! It's expensive but if you can find a great place and a Group On coupon its a great way to try it out! I highly recommend incorporating 2 times a week. Can't wait till things go back to normal to go back!
