Step by Step Tutorial to get My Volume, Textured Hair Style!
Hi ladies! I don’t know about you, but I’m always drooling and trying to achieve my favorite celebrity hairstyles. Since I was born with super curly, thick hair that I struggled to manage most of my life, the one thing that continually sticks out to me is beautiful, healthy tresses.
True story, when i was 13 I finally figured out how to get my hair smooth with my moms iron and ironing board! Needless too say it didn’t go well and I have a few burns to remember it! Ha! Anyone else?!
Anyway, I’m always keeping my eyes out for tools that make styling my hair easier. The first time I switched my Pro Dryer on, I was shocked at how powerful this sucker was! Step By Step How To For Textured Volume!
For how I like to style my hair, my goal is volume and texture so I blow dry my hair away from my scalp for maximum umff! I could also use a round brush and smooth it out for a much more polished vibe buy you know me I like a little rock and roll in my looks so texture all the way!
Pro Tip: Blow Dry away from the scalp and use mainly your hands to dry to achieve the most volume!
Ok, don’t judge, this is my hair in it’s natural crazy frizzyness glory! But I wanted to share with you so that you don’t get frustrated as you style and just follow through because the finished result will give you killer texture!
Next I section my hair into 3 sections with these clips and work from the bottom up and take really small, maybe 1/2 in sections and curl with the 2 in 1 Marcel Curling Iron starting mid-shaft and aiming my curling iron DOWN! I’m obsessed with this iron and it couldn’t have come at a better time as my old one was too big for my new shorter hair. This 1.25 size is perfect for my length and any type of bob/lob length.
Pro Tip: The smaller the sections you curl the more texture you’ll achieve!
Then I alternate directions and curl with iron facing up, hold on to my ends and kind of do a pull through to smooth at the ends to make the ends straight and give that lived in look. Lastly I let my hair set for a few minutes to cool and then shake the curls loose before I spray it with texture spray!

I only wash my hair every 4-5 days so I’ve been using the wand option for the following days to touch up a few loose pieces here and there.
