One of the questions I most get asked is "What are my closet staples? "Basics that I can mix into everything?" "Can you suggest great basic pieces?" Today I'm sharing just that! The pieces that i believe you should have within your wardrobe that you can build countless outfits with. These pieces are timeless and can be found at any price point and literally are pieces you see me style daily! I have created this list for you to cherry pick what your are missing and of course given you options a every price. Leather Pants
I know you're skeptical but these are an item that you can just as easily dress down with sneakers and a sweatshirt for everyday as well as upgrade to a chic cocktail hour look with pumps, a camisole and a blazer! There are awesome faux leather alternatives for a fraction of the price that look just as chic as the real deal! I own these and these and love them both! They are both on SALE and I have my normal size! If you are looking to invest I LOVE these and these! I have some similar with the zipper ankle detail that I bought at least 8 years ago and they have totally paid off and I still wear them regularly. And these from HILO the Label are the ones I am wearing in the photo above! Love the relaxed boyfriend fit!
The Perfect White Tee
You guys the options are endless with a great white T shirt! Dressed up or down, layered a peeking out under a great sweater. Under a strapless or summer dress for winter layering months! With simple denim shorts and sandals in the summer and on and on. The most important thing to look for is fit and quality of fabric. If both of these things are there the drape will be perfect an you will have and love forever. My favorite brand from Tees is Current Elliot! Their fit and quality can't be beat and every year I invest in a couple new ones and wear the hell out of them all year! My other favorites are these! They are literally the softest fabric and have the best V neckline I've found, not to mention the price is awesome! I've had my grey so long it's actually got holes but I actually love that!
Trench Coat
A great trench coat will transition from season to season and instantly give any look a Parisian chicness that is so effortless! I love this one and this one! Over denim, leather or over a cocktail dress for when you just don't know what to top you night out look with.
Jean Jacket
I seriously wear this oversized jean jacket ALL the time as you've noticed! It's exactly what I reach for when I need to add a casualness to my looks. It seamlessly makes dress and skirt combos wearable for daytime and breaks up color.
Biker Jacket
This one essential I could not live without! I have sooo many and love them ALL! Ha! My essential is a black one, if you want to edge it ip even more go with studs that I'm obsessed with right now! If you are looking to shake things up for spring I'd suggest a white or light blush like this one! A great moto jacket instantly gives you a little boost of confidence and makes you feel a little more badass! ;)
Over the Knee Boots
Over the knee boots are such chic piece that will serve you for years. They make your legs look miles long and instantly slim your figure! You can style over skinny jeans, with mini skirts, with dresses.... Start with a black pair, you'll get the most use out of them.
Black Suede Pump
There is nothing that looks more polished, elegant and instantly chic then a great black suede pump. You can wear from office to a night out! I say this is an investment item, spend the money and you'll love the look more. I look for a heel that is further back on the shoe to create more length and slimming effect on my legs. Gianvito Rossi makes my all time favorite pumps, seriously the best!! I own 3-4 pairs. AND I found them here at a fraction of the price! I order all of mine here, free shipping and the bets price I have found! Hands down the most gorgeous pump out there! Also for a better price these are great!
The Slip Dress
I love the ease of a slip dress. There's something so confident about it and you can do so much with one. You can belt a slip dress for a more figure hugging look. You can top with a biker or jean jacket depending on if it's a night out or a day at the park. You can layer a tank, tee or even a turtleneck underneath for the cooler months. Or you can throw on some cool ripped jean underneath like you've seen me do here.
Sock Boots
This is a must have item in my opinion because I found myself styling them with everything this last year and I don't think they are going anywhere! These are my fave and I wore them all day long during FW, super comfortable!
Tanks
I love to layer all year long and tanks are the best way to do so without adding any bulk to your looks. I LOVE these and have them in every color. The neck line is super flattering an look awesome with layered jewelry. I also couldn't live without my muscle tanks that I have in every color! I wear these sooo often!
THE BLAZER
If you don't already your need to run not walk to get a great blazer! This is such a core piece of your wardrobe that will last you for years and years! They will take you from corporate job to date night to cocktails! Such an important piece to own. Currently I am loving a more relaxed boyfriend fit and this loose fit gives you so many more styling options! I would suggest to invest in a black blazer and on a plaid blazer because that is this years styling essential!
Denim, Denim, Denim!
I live for my denim and it is seriously the one item I could NEVER do without! I could go on and on about the denim styles that you need but to keep things simple I'd say you need the styles. A skinny, a slim boyfriend and a bell bottom trouser style! These styles will dress up or down and will cover ANY look you are trying to create! I love my jeans to have a detail of interest whether it be a raw hem or distressing to keep things more edgy! If I had to choose brand style in each of these categories I would say for Skinnies; my Rocket Skinnies are by far my most loved! SO flattering with their high rise and legs for days! I also love the fit of my AGolde and my Levi's for an awesome price too! For a slim boyfriend my Redone Jeans are amazing and so are these Levis and at a fraction of the price! I have also recently fallen in love with these. They are relaxed enough to pass for a boyfriend and the raw amazing hem really makes them epic! Lastly for my wide leg trouser I love these! So soft and just look soooo cool! I wear these a lot more in the summer time!
Statement Clutch or Bag
I love to add a little fun to my outfits with a great bag! There are so many unique spring bags that give a standout moment to your daytime as well as your more tailored evening looks! I'm thinking of buying this one that I have been coveting for ever. How chic with jeans and a simple Tee! I bought this one for my Tulum trip and got sooo many compliments/questions about it!
