Old Classics

There are things that every good closet should own and that you will wear time after time and in so many different ways. This post is all about these standards. About making something old look new. Leather pants, oversized wool blazers, sky high sandals. These three items are so coveted in my wardrobe and I'm sure you've noticed me wearing them often and in a multitude of ways like here, here and here. I believe in investing in core pieces and absolutely encourage you to do so on pieces like these because you will get so much use out of them that they'll pay for themselves!

Lucy's Style Tip: I try to think of at least 3-4 ways I can wear something before buying it and that helps me decide if something is truly worth it.

A great tailored wool jacket like this is such a great winter necessity and looks great over a simple sweater and jeans like I did here, or over a dress or worn with a band tee and boots.

Leather pants as you know are a MUST have as far as I'm concerned and give your wardrobe instant street cred! ;) There is something so effortless about a great fitting pair of leather pants and for me are a core piece and even building block of my wardrobe. I splurged on these over 5 years ago and they are still one of my favorite all time purchases!

Stuart Weitzman sandals; what can I say they are a classic sandal that make any outfit look great! I wear these sandals so often from casual outfits to cocktail hour special occasion and they just look chic! I love that they make my legs look cray long and are just an elegant go-to shoe IMO. I jazzed up these old classic with a bold Bauble Bar statement necklace to add a little more interest to the look and because I think I might also wear this look for New Years Eve! Ha What did I tell you, I can wear these pieces on major repeat!
