How to Style Metallics for the Holidays

I love a glam moment, especially during the holidays. I mean, who doesn’t love a little metallic or sequin statement? But… styling them can be a whole other story. To be honest, sequins and metallics can be hard to pull off without looking like a disco ball. So, I’m sharing some of my styling tips for making this fun holiday trend work for you, not against you…

Surprise, surprise… this whole look today is head-to-toe Express! They have so many fun sparkly pieces right now, and I had so much fun styling these metallic pants (which have an elastic waistband btw)! I paired it with this cozy v-neck sweater which helps balance out the statement pant. If you want to wear sequins or metallics, then I recommend pairing it with a different texture like a sweater or blazer to offset the sparkly situation.

I also love mixing and matching leather with sequins and metallics - think leather belt, boots, or pants if you’re wearing a sequin top. I think leather helps balance out the more feminine pieces and you know I never miss an opportunity to add some edge to my outfits! If you’re not ready to go full glam, then have a little fun with accessories - I couldn’t resist picking up these embellished heels - so fun for the holidays!
