Modern Twist On How To Decorate For The Holidays & Home Gift Guide Under $40!

It’s beginning to look a lot like a modern Christmas in our home! To be 100% honest this is the most I’ve EVER decorated my home! I think it has to do with spending so much time at home and really wanting to make this time as special and normal as I can for our family. The thing is, I’m not a super kitchy Xmas kinda girl so I wanted to find a good balance between our modern aesthetic and some holiday cheer!I My twist was to lean into a very modern, Scandinavian theme which I couldn’t be more excited about! To make sure I didn’t break the bank, I went to Walmart which has great (and super affordable) home decor perfect for any holiday.

I pretty much built my Christmas around this buffalo printed ribbon this year! I spotted it and loved and thought it would pop against all our existing furniture!

Decor Hack: Use your favorite wire ribbon throughout your home to create cohesiveness. I loved this buffalo plaid ribbon so much that I used it throughout the house to pull the decor together. I created bows for our Christmas tree and front door wreath, I tied it around our flocked trees and found the same print for our table runner. In all I didn’t spend much but it really changed the dinning room!

Also, can we have a quick talk about our tree?! I’m obsessed! Harlow begged for a white flocked tree and I have to say it’s my favorite! I added these giant ornaments that are SO pretty! Then found the perfect matching wrapping paper to go with my ribbon, pretty smart huh!? For the time being I added the cozy pillows, here and here until i get all the gifts under there! Cute right? I bought them all a few months ago and have loved them and moved them all over the house!
