Dare to wear RED!

Hi ladies! Hope you are having a great week and had an awesome Valentine’s Day! Tonights look is all about stepping out in bold hues, specifically RED!

It’s funny I feel like a lot of people reserve the color red strictly for the holiday season and for me it’s the exact opposite. During the holidays I avoid it because it can feel too obvious or campy, no offense to my holiday cheer ladies! ;) I guess I like to think of this daring hue as more of a power color that I love to use to make a strong statement. If you haven’t worn red in a while or don’t feel super confident wearing this color I wanted to give you some of my tips on pulling it off!

  1. Treat red like a neutral, promise it will play nice with almost anything!

  2. Try a Monochrome red look! Think a red stain skirt with a red cozy sweater. This is definitely a statement but you can ground the look with neutral details like nude shoes and handbag. The colors do not have to be exact as long at tones are the same.

  3. For daytime try it paired with camel, blue, brown, white and for night time I love a black and red combo like I’ve done here!

  4. If you’re not ready to commit to bold red clothing pieces maybe try adding it in with your accessories like with shoes , handbags or a red lip!

  5. Keep makeup more subtle and use an opposing lip color. Wearing red stands out on it’s own already; it feels more effortless when the makeup isn’t too bold or too matchy matchy. I like to either wear a nude lip or contrast it with a subtle pink lip stain.

Hope this was helpful and that you’re inspired to add a little red to your wardrobe! Cheers and have a great weekend ladies!
XO, Lucy
