Winterizing Your Summer Dresses
Hi Ladies! Winter is in full swing and I’m excited to share a new way to style some summer favorites by winterizing your summer dresses! You can instantly give new life to some pieces you might not have thought to reach for by just mixing in some unexpected ideas.
Dresses are something I don’t wear a lot of but when I do I like to wear them in unexpected ways!
My two favorite ways to change things up are:
Layer them over ripped skinnies for a more effortless vibe. I like to do this with dresses that just skim the ankles and sometime tie the hem of the dress on one side to give an asymmetric drape. For reference, I’ve styled this look this way and this one.
Top your summer maxis off with a cozy sweater to easily wear during the colder months!
If you live somewhere where it gets REALLY cold even think about layering a leather moto jacket on top for additional warmth and and extra edgy vibe!
I also decided to style this look with ankle booties and socks to really make it feel like a winter look vs sandals or heels that would feel a bit too overdone. The socks I threw in for a playful touch and because it gave a more slimming silhouette to my legs.
Lucy’s Style Tip: As a rule I generally wear boots or sneakers with my winter dress looks unless it’s an evening event or something more cocktail. This will make your dresses more wearable and functional for real life days.
Cheers ladies,
Lucy
