Belled + Monochrome
Hi guys, remember this look from a couple weeks ago that I wore to The Nutcracker? It was such a fun night hanging out with a few of my favorite blogger friends and we got to experience the ballet like never before. Misty Copeland was the the prima ballerina, yep thee Misty and she was amazing! We then also had the treat of attending a great after party hosted by Chanel, how fun is that!? If you follow me on Insta-Stories or Snapchat you got to see all the fun and if you didn't go follow me now! ;)
Anyway, back to the outfit! I chose this look for multiple reasons. It was a cold night and I hate being cold more then anything! So I decided right then that I was going to go for layers and pants for sure. The event was a semi-formal event, like cocktail hour. I think it is totally appropriate and even super chic to opt for a trouser-ed look but there's a trick. In order to make the outfit elegant I went for monochromatic all black. This instantly elevates an outfit and creates an great silhouette. Lastly I used repetition by playing up the bell sleeves of the top with the flare of the trousers. By playing those off each other I created repetition in the outfit which is a great styling trick. This is a great trick that you probably use often and don't even know it. You match metallic details within and outfit. You match the tones of your handbags with the tones of your shoes. You maybe wear the blue necklace to pull from your blue denim. You get the idea, that is why this outfit works.
As always I've got all the outfit details below and some favorite bell sleeve tops that I think you'll love! XO
