I waited until I found just the perfect color and style coat before committing. And I think I found it! Coats are one of those things that in southern California we don't get to wear very often so I wanted my coat purchase to be versatile. A few tips that might be helpful in finding your perfect winter coat.

Heavy enough to keep you warm but light enough to wear in the fall and spring.
A modern cut or details so that there is something that makes it unique, special!
Roomy enough for layers
I suggest a fun color that gives your cozy winter outfits an extra pop! Red, white, a bold blue or green are all great choices. Even a great pattern would be fun!
Pay attention to length. I prefer a coat that hits mid thigh as I'm not very tall and this the bulk of a coat it can overwhelm me and I can look like I'm being swallowed up! ;)

As far as I'm concerned this wine color is a neutral as it can be worn with everything from black to any neutral (white/grey/camel/blues) or even a blush color!
